Iranian Wedding

This series, Is a narrative of Iranian wedding. An event that now has become one of the symbols of cultural alteration in today Iran.
The purpose of this series, is not to offer a visual representation of the Iranian wedding context, but by moving away from the main subject – wedding event - and its heroes – groom And bride –  it tries to take a look at what that is happening at the margin.
In Iran, the process of marriage is sometimes very complex and with a variety of rituals.  But usually, the concept of marriage is recognized by holding the wedding celebration. By holding this ceremony, the couple announce to their families that they are officially wedded.
Having a wedding ceremony, because of its heavy expenses, is not an easy task for many of people, and even some couples, from the very beginning of their new life, get involved in apparently endless banks loan. However due to the social, legal and traditional requirements, in most families the wedding celebration should take place in its utmost glory.
The pictures of this collection could be considered as a glance to the behind scene of Iranian weddings. This glance, however short, can help to have a more accurate understanding about the atmosphere of this cultural and social event in Iran.
In addition to the observable cultural contradictions and conflicts in the context of marriage rituals in Iran, there are also complex and diverse cultural, legal and religious restrictions that are involved in this ritual. In this series, by taking a look at the less seen layers of the Iranian wedding, we tried to find a new understanding about this cultural and social transformation; Specially among those who have been born after the 1979 revolution, matured and now are in the age of marriage. The final product is, perhaps, a complex and undiscovered and multi-face style that Iranians chose for their life.

2015-2018

عروسی ایرانی

این مجموعه روایتیست از عروسی هایی ایرانی که در آنها به ضرورت بوده ام .
هدف من در این مجموعه بازنمایی تصویری کلیه مراسمات عروسی ایران نیست که فرهنگ متنوع ایران طیف گستره ای از این نوع جشن ها را به وجود آورده . این عکس ها تنها برداشتیست از عروسی ایرانی چرا که به دلیل محدودیت های  فرهنگی امکان حضور در بسیاری از جشن ها برایم وجود نداشته .
در ایران معمولا مفهوم ازدواج با برگزاری مراسم جشن عروسی به رسمیت شناخته میشود و دو زوج با جشن عروسی به فامیل واطرافیان مزدوج شدن خورد را اعلام می کنند و ازدواج با مکان زندگی مشترک ، حساب بانکی مشترک و احتمالا فرزند همراه است.
برگزاری مراسم عروسی با توجه به هزینه آن در ایران برای بسیاری از جوانان آسان نیست و حتی بعضی‌ها از همان شروع زندگی گرفتار وام و قرض می‌شوند. از طرف دیگر بنا به جبری اجتماعی این مراسم در بسیار از مواقع باید اتفاق بیوفتد.
تصاویر این مجموعه امکان نگاهی هرچند کوتاه به وضعیت این جشن ها و فضاهای حاکم بر آن در ایران مدرن امروز را فراهم می‌کند.  ایرانی که از نظر قوانین اساسی آن، قوه قضاییه ، طیف فقهی و شرعی و بدنه مذهبی آن ، این نوع مراسمات بویژه آنهای که مختلط برگزار می گردد غیر قاونونی ست . هر چند که بدنه قضایی تا حدودی در مورد مراسمات عروسی نرم تر برخورد می کند .
علاقه‌ی وسواس‌گونه‌ی ام به شناخت ویژگی های زندگی ایرانی انگیزه بزرگی بود برای نمایش کد هایی از روابط پیچیده ایرانی ها و نشانه های از هویت ایرانی در یکی از حساس ترین و پیچیده ترین رویدادِ زندگی یک ایرانی .
